Richard was named after his uncle Richard.  He was born in Dallas, TX on July 30th, 1953.  Richard recalls a great childhood growing up on Martha Street, Euless TX, he had plenty of friends.  After graduating as the salutatorian of Trinity High School, he attended Baylor University in Waco, TX with a scholarship in Theology. Richard went through a culture shock during his freshman and sophomore years at Baylor. Life was vastly different in Euless compared to the affluent kids he went to college with.  Needless to say, he graduated from college with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.  Not only did he found his passion in Psychology but also cooking.  It is during his catering business while in college that he met his best friends, David and Micki Grimland, who now resides in the Houston area.

Richard’s professional life took a turn, a positive one, when he was offered a position at PepsiCo as a Human Resources Manager.  He is eternally grateful to Denise and Sue for that opportunity. Richard found his niche in people, coaching people.

It was his position at Carlson Restaurants Worldwide, parent company of TGI Friday’s that opened his mind and eyes to the world. Richard traveled outside the United States for the first time in his 40s and his first trip was to Asia. His passion and love for coaching took him to Chicago in 2001 and has since called it home. Richard went back to school while working as the Chief Talent Officer at The Marketing Store.  He became a certified executive coach from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. in 2006.

Richard is married to Eve, proud father of two handsome young men, Geoff and Reiss, and co-owner of a toy poodle, Austin.
